Il potere della musica

Oggi sentendo in radio “November Rain” dei Guns N’ Roses per un attimo ho chiuso gli occhi e mi sono tuffata nella mia adolenscenza. I sabati pomeriggio al palaghiaccio con l’amica del cuore, il compagno di classe che non parlava d’altro a scuola, il primo lento in discoteca, sognato un’intera settimana, promesso e mancato perché era buio e non ci si era trovati, i compiti di matematica in cucina, rigorosamente accompagnati dalla radio…

Questo è uno dei grandi poteri della musica: ti fa rivivere momenti celati nei meandri della tua memoria che riemergono freschi, come se li avessi appena vissuti, anche se sono passati decenni.

Heute habe ich im Radio “November Rain” von Guns N’ Roses gehört, habe kurz die Augen geschlossen und bin in meine Jugend eingetaucht. Der Samstagnachmittag am Eislaufplatz mit der besten Freundin, der Schulkollege, der von nichts anderes sprechen konnte, die erste enge Tanz in der Disko, auf den eine ganze Woche wartest, versprochen und vermisst, weil es zu finster war, um sich überhaupt zu finden, die Mathehausaufgaben in der Küche, in treuer Begleitung des Radios…

Das kann Musik: Du erlebst Momente, die tief in deinem Gedächtnis verborgen sind und klar auftauchen, als hättest du sie gerade erlebt, obwohl sie vor Jahrzenten stattgefunden haben.

Saturday afternoon ice-skating with my best friend, the school mate who couldn’t talk about anything else, the first slow-dance at the disco I have been waiting for the whole week, promised and missed, because we couldn’t see each other (it was too dark), maths homework in the kitchen accompanied by my radio…

That’s one of the powers of music: you revive moments, which are hidden deep inside your memory and they emerge clear as if you just lived them, even if they happened decades ago…
