Recently we went to the val d’Ultimo/Ultental valley to see the ancient larches. There’s three left, they are huge and over 2000 years old…! I felt amazed thinking about their age and watching them in their silent magnificence! Along the small path there is a chalet called “Lärchengarten” where they have a delicious Roulade made with buckwheat flour, cream and raspberry, yummy 😉 It’s worth a trip, it’s only 45 min. by car from Merano and 20 min. walk from the closest parking place.
